Fix Offline Devices and Network Stuttering
If you connect dozens of Wi-Fi smart plugs, bulbs, and cameras to your router, you may experience IP address conflicts. This happens when your router tries to assign the same IP address to two different devices, causing one or both to go offline randomly. Here is how to solve it using Static IPs.
How to Assign Static IP Addresses
- Log into your Wi-Fi router’s admin panel (usually by typing
192.168.1.1into a browser). - Navigate to the **DHCP Client List** or **LAN Settings** to view all connected devices.
- Locate your smart devices (match their MAC addresses if the name is generic).
- Enable **Address Reservation** or **Static IP** for each device. This ensures the router always reserves a specific IP address for that device.
- Save settings and reboot your router.
