Never Miss a Visitor: Solve Video Doorbell Lag
There is nothing more frustrating than receiving a notification that someone is at your door, only to open the app and see they have already walked away. Delayed notifications defeat the purpose of having a smart doorbell. Here is how to fix the lag.
1. Adjust Motion Frequency Settings
Many battery-powered smart doorbells have a cool-down period between recordings to save battery. Change your motion frequency setting to “Frequent” or “Continuous” to reduce this delay.
2. Create Custom Motion Zones
If your doorbell is triggered by passing cars or wind, it may get overwhelmed and delay alerts. Draw precise **Motion Zones** in your app settings to only trigger alerts when someone steps onto your porch.
3. Turn Off Battery Optimization
On your smartphone, ensure battery-saving modes are not putting your doorbell app (Ring, Eufy, Nest) to sleep in the background, which delays push alerts.
