Enjoy Your Favorite Music Hands-Free
By default, Amazon Echo devices use Amazon Music as their primary audio source. However, if you are a Spotify subscriber, you can easily link your account to Alexa. This allows you to play your custom playlists, albums, and liked songs simply by using voice commands. Here is how to set up Spotify as your default music service on Alexa.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
- Open the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone.
- Tap More in the bottom right corner, then select Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Music & Podcasts.
- Tap Link New Service and select Spotify.
- Tap Enable to Use and log in with your Spotify credentials.
- Agree to the permission terms to link the accounts.
Set Spotify as Default
To avoid having to say “…on Spotify” at the end of every command, set it as your default service:
- On the Music & Podcasts screen, tap Default Services.
- Under “Music,” change the default service to Spotify.
- Under “Artist And Genre Stations,” change it to Spotify as well.
Now, you can simply say: “Alexa, play my morning playlist” and it will stream directly from Spotify.
