How to Set Up Multi-Room Audio with Sonos and Alexa

Multi-room audio allows you to play the same song in perfect sync across speakers in your kitchen, living room, and bedroom. Sonos makes the best multi-room audio hardware, and by connecting it to Amazon Alexa, you can control your entire music layout with simple voice commands. Here is how to configure it.

1. Enable the Sonos Skill in Alexa

1. Open the Alexa App.
2. Tap More > Skills & Games.
3. Search for Sonos and tap Enable to Use.
4. Log in to your Sonos account to link the services.

2. Discover Your Speakers

After enabling the skill, Alexa will scan your local network for Sonos speakers. Once found, they will appear in your Alexa device list. You can group them into “Music Groups” (e.g. “Downstairs”) to play music simultaneously across multiple rooms.
