6. App and Matter
Check the new device works in the same app as your existing ones. A “Matter” logo means it can work across platforms such as Google Home, Apple Home or Alexa, but these usually need a compatible hub or smart speaker to control it.
7. Local warranty
Ask the seller where a faulty unit goes before you buy. Keep the receipt and test within the return period.
