Fortunately, Amazon Echo devices feature “Whisper Mode.” When enabled, if you whisper a command to Alexa, she will recognize the tone and whisper her response back to you. Here is how to turn it on.

How to Enable via Voice Command

The easiest way to turn this feature on is simply to say to your Echo speaker: “Alexa, turn on Whisper Mode.” She will confirm that the setting has been activated.

How to Enable via the Alexa App

1. Open the Alexa App.
2. Tap More > Settings.
3. Scroll down and select Voice Responses under the Alexa Preferences section.
4. Toggle on the switch next to Whispered Responses.
